National Trust Botallack Mine

COUNT HOUSE CAFÉ

We were tasked with creating a visitor experience at Botallack Mine's Count House Workshop, part of the Tin Coast World Heritage Site.

The historic building, once stables for the mine horses and a workshop for the mine carpenter has been refurbished into a place to stop for refreshments and discover more about Cornish tin mining.

We incorporated a film theatre, inspired by the site's use as a filming location, and interpretation panels throughout the cafe and visitor centre which tell the story of Cornish mining's place in history and how it inspired the story of Poldark.
