AN INFORMAL SPACE FOR INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP STUDY
With an initial brief to create a ‘learning lounge’ style working environment for students, we transformed this small space, within the Peter Lanyon building on the Penryn Campus into an agile and welcoming place for informal study.
Building on the ‘lounge’ concept, the interior’s eclectic styling and low level lighting creates a relaxed breakout space, combining different zones to incorporate collaborative learning as well as individual study. A variety of versatile workspaces are incorporated, including private booths and desk space, with upholstered benches and soft seating, and a prominent ideas board to enable collaborative thinking. A porthole style windows and a bold seascape artwork nod to the campus' coastal location, while the soft velvet and wool finishes create the cosy lounge feel.
The result is a popular new study environment for university students to study and socialise.MORE INTERIORS
