EXPLORING PARADISE RESTORED AT THIS COUNTRY ESTATE
We have been working with Hestercombe Gardens Trust over the last few years to create an engaging visitor experience. As well as encouraging exploration of the restored gardens and its follies, we have included interpretation for the estate's mill complex, contemporary art space and bat room.
Our orientation and interpretation scheme guides visitors through the diverse stories of Hestercombe’s inhabitants, who have each added their mark to the buildings and landscape - revealing the history of the estate’s architectural, ecological and technological features.
Our signage and displays are designed using materials which complement their surroundings and use of the space.
The corten steel garden signage nods to the agricultural machinery of the gardens and wheelhouse, while freestanding and portable birch frames provide a flexible signage solution for the estate’s function spaces. Interpretation panels hang from timber joists, incorporating the estate's building’s features within the scheme.
