A SCHEME IN KEEPING WITH THE HISTORIC SETTING OF THE 'PEOPLE'S CATHEDRAL'
We were awarded the signage contract for Guildford Cathedral as part of the HLF funded re-furbishment of the “People’s Cathedral’.
The original brief was focused purely on signage, freestanding oak monoliths and benches formed the majority of the scheme but signage to the internal and external areas of the Refectory and Shop were also required.
As the project took shape we were also commissioned to manufacture GIS standard display cases, freestanding touch screen units and replica cathedral benches.
The result was an entire suite of interpretation plinths, touch screen displays and furniture to compliment the lime washed oak fixtures and fittings which worked in perfect harmony with the historic surroundings.
We worked closely with the on-site architects and curators to come up with ideas that could not only display and inform visitors on the cathedral’s history but to also further educate them on the items that are currently displayed in their Treasury Room.
