FLEXIBLE DESIGN FOR STUDENT BAR'S VARIED USE
The Stannary Bar at Penryn Campus serves a dual purpose, as a space for working and meeting during the day and as a bar and nightclub at night.
We were brought onboard to create the interior designs and production information drawings for the bar. We focussed on a flexible design that would suit the bar’s changing needs throughout the day. An industrial colour scheme with dark, chalky tones was selected to bring texture and add a warmer atmosphere to the space.
To work within the client’s budget we re-upholstered the existing chairs and remodelled the bar, adding a Corian top and geometric graphics to the front to give a cost-effective facelift to the elements of the bar that were still functional, yet a little tired-looking. Continuing the industrial theme, we built feature shelving made from old scaffolding poles and planks. We sourced and supplied a range of moveable furniture, with varying table and seating heights to suit the bar’s varied uses. Old school chairs and timber benches completed the look to create a trendy and welcoming environment for students to study and socialise.
