As this week is National Apprenticeships Week (5 – 9 March) we’re celebrating our very own apprentice, Jordan Kendall, who joined our installation team just over a year ago.
Jordan’s two-year apprenticeship means that while studying for his professional signwriting qualification, through Cornwall College Group, he is able to get practical experience in the workplace. In return we benefit from an enthusiastic team member who is growing his skills with the latest training and qualifications.
Involved across the range of our projects, including installing signage and wayfinding systems, interior design elements, exhibitions and visitor experience projects, Jordan is enjoying the variety that his apprenticeship offers.
He says, “Every day is different – and it has been challenging adapting to the working environment and the pace of each job – one minute I’ll be working in production on a job and the next out on site at an installation. It’s really rewarding, having been involved in all the elements, to finish a big job and look back on it. Those are the best days.”
He added, “I see my apprenticeship as a good way to work my way up, gaining the experience and knowledge that relates to every day things. I’ve always been interested in learning as I earn – it’s good to gain knowledge from the job at hand while you’re studying, it really helps to combine the two.”
Keep up the excellent work Jordan.
