Celebrating the Cornish Pasty

We’re excited that this week sees the first ever Cornish Pasty Week from the Cornish Pasty Association – sharing the joy of this iconic regional meal nationwide.

Based in Cornwall, all of us here at 20/20 are proud advocates of the Cornish Pasty. And we’re lucky enough to not just get the pick of the pasties from our Falmouth studio, but we also get to support an array of local bakers and businesses as they go about the important task of making and selling this traditional Cornish fare.

This week of celebration got us thinking about what makes a Cornish pasty so special. The original fast food option, the simple pasty was way ahead of its time in terms of convenience – combining an entire nutritious meal into one neat (and delicious) package. And then there’s its flexibility – you may, like me, be a fan of the traditional steak pasty – but if you are looking for something different, the meal has evolved to offer so much choice and variety. You can now fill your choice of shortcrust, gluten free or vegetarian pastry with any number of ingredients for your vegan, exotically flavoured or seasonally themed option – there is something to suit everyone’s taste and requirements.

And it struck us that this celebrated meal, the humble pasty, encapsulates everything we’re about here at 20/20. We too combine all the quality ingredients you need in one convenient package, skilfully combining creative design elements with practical manufacture and installation, in a perfect balance, seasoned to your taste to meet your brief and budget.

With a history of diverse projects from bold and bright head office interior design for pasty giants Ginsters to exhibition interpretation to engage visitors during their pasty stop at the National Trust’s Count House cafe at Botallack, and brand application across Rowe’s retail stores to banners and signage for local company Crantock Cornish Pasties (pictured) – our portfolio goes to show that we are as deliciously versatile as the pasty we celebrate this week.
